I Heart My Bouncer

We tried Luke in his bouncer the first day he came home from the hospital. It didn't go so well:

But now, eight weeks later and with greater head control, it's one of Luke's favorite things to do. This is good news for us because he will happily sit in it and punch the bears while we eat dinner. The vibration is also, uh, good for his digestion.

Although Luke hearts his bouncer, this shirt reminds us that nothing beats being held and cuddled:

Happy Kid

Luke started smiling and laughing for real this week. It makes this parenting gig so much more fun! Here are a few photos of his new trick:

Monkey Business

Luke got to meet his new buddy Liam this weekend. Liam's last name is Luke--funny, huh? The boys monkeyed around a little bit, but mostly the mommies played.

I probably should have been rescuing my son, not snapping this photo.

Liam goes in for the eye poke.

Liam pretends to ride a motorcycle while Luke looks on adoringly.

0-3 Months

I never knew that 0-3 month clothing might not necessarily fit babies who are 0 months old. Apparently there is another category for average size babies when they are 0: Newborn. I wish I knew this because we only had one 5 pack of onesies and one pajama outfit that were Newborn size. Thank goodness for Xander and Zack, because Luke wore their hand me downs for over a month.

The other day I felt a little sad packing away his five onesies and pajama outfit. I even saved a Newborn size diaper as a memento (not used of course). But that sadness quickly turned to glee because now Luke can wear his super cute 0-3 month clothing! I almost don't mind changing him after he spits up, because then we can try out another outfit. Here is a little fashion show:

In Three Words

I just tried to write about this week and ended up with two pages that would probably bore most of you. So I decided to take a lesson from Good Morning America and describe each adventure in three words (articles not included). The overall theme of this week is that I’m trying to be more adventurous and take Luke out of the house. Sometimes I’m successful and sometimes I’m not.

One Month Old

Luke turned one month old yesterday. As a special treat, he got to spend much of the day with Aunty Kerry and Uncle Tim. Here are some highlights of the day:

Early morning walk with Dad

Monkeying around with Aunty Kerry

Getting ready for another walk with mom. (About five seconds before screaming began)

We decided to try walking with Luke in the wrap. Mom can go hands free!

Luke reads Funny Feet while the grownups eat lunch. As a rule, Luke allows us to eat for about five minutes in peace before demanding to be held. He must smell the food...

Luke meets his Uncle Tim.

Jamie made a yummy Jambalya dinner.
