In Loving Memory

Jamie’s grandmother passed away early yesterday morning.

Grandma Moore almost made it to her 92nd birthday, and she was an incredibly strong woman until the very end. This past Sunday, she enjoyed an Easter outing with family and close friends. On Thursday, she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, which is when the doctors discovered that she had had a “silent heart attack.” Even two hours before her death, she told her daughter Jenny (Jamie’s mom) that she loved her.

When we told Grandma about Baby Milliken on Christmas Day, she clapped her hands together and looked up towards God, beaming away. I know she was most excited for her daughter Jenny (pictured above) to experience the joys of being a grandmother. I feel very blessed to have had Grandma Moore in my life, if but for a short time.

I received a birthday card from Grandma last week, which lovingly stated: “I know you and Jamie will be very good parents. Just trust in the Lord and all will go well. It will be an all new life, the three of you together. Take good care of yourself and have a wonderful birthday. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and take care of all your needs according to His will.”

Grandma Moore was a very spiritual woman and we know she is enjoying her reunion with her husband Edwin and of course, Jesus and God.

I'm sorry to hear about Jamie's grandmother. It sounds like she lived her life right up to the end and left this world ready for the next one.

She loved you both with all her heart. Thank you, Cate and Jamie, for being with us at the funeral.
